This is my classmates. All of us is about 26 people who came from different countries. For example, Thai, Vietnam, Hongkong, China, Philipine, Romania, USA, Nigeria, Congo, Russia, Brazil, Ulbania, Uzbegistan, Iraq, Poland, etc.
I guess you all can tell which one is our Norwegian teacher, he is a very nice and kind teacher. There is also another beutiful teacher name Mari, I will try to take a picture with her and post in here next time!
Just intend to update my progress to you guys!
My plan to visit Sweden is postpone to 7 March til 29 March 2008 (3 weeks sharp). That was bad news for me since P'Ple said he could only take his holidays out on that period of time. But I'm now thinking it's fine and it's better than nothing or longer than that.
Around almost 3 months counted from now on but I booked already the ticket (hahaha). I will fly by KLM and of course, it will transit at Amsterdam!!!. My collegue said there is not so good as a Thai lady as she had heard about the Migration in the airport stopped her friend that's because he thought she will going to work as a prostitute there!!!!
I was scared of what I've heard but she gave me suggestion to ask my boss (Head of Swedish Visa and Migration) to issues a confirmation letter about I am the one officer at my working place will go to Sweden for tourism purpose. I haven't say to him yet but I'm surely he will do it for me :) that makes me relieved.
Well, P'Bee...If you may think about the trip to Sweden on that period it would be great for me, but if not, I talked to P'Ple about visiting you in Norway, he said yes then we will see.
I will take some pictures of my future sweet home in Sweden (now is under construction) and I will post here as some further progress for you guys. My Swedish language now improved like 5 percent!!! (better than nothing, huh???) because I started to chat, request, ask in Swedish in my working place as I've noticed that will make me improve my conversation much better. Luckily, all collegues (even my boss) always correct my Swedish (vad kul!). At work, I'm sitting beside one Swedish teacher and he always try to answer my stupid questions of Swedish grammatic (hahaha). But he feels happy with my stupid questions which he needs to find the answer at home and get back to me as he also said you learned me some too!!!
Fairly long and I will stop now bcoz I want you guys to read it at last...hehehe
Ha det bra!
Big
Today is my birthday, 10 November 2007.
I woke up this morning with a sweet wispering "Happy birthday" from my husband and a few moment later, a little boy from the picture rang me to yell out a "Gratulerer med dagen" to me. It was a very nice "morning" than it usually is.
The weather was nice all day even there is a little bit too cold with -1.5 but the sun shine all day long.
We went out to visit Garfield, and he is fine and beautiful as always. We also noticed that Garfield's hair is now thicker than ever. I now see the prove of what people said that when the weather gets colder, cats and dogs grow out hair by themselves when they needed it. Trond used to laugh at dogs in Thailand when he saw them wearing clothes as we think that dogs are probably cold and need to put some clothes on to warm them up.
I used to worried that Garfield will be freeze with the weather here in Norway. But now I know that I shouldn't be, and I feel relieved.
4 O' Clock today I had a very nice dinner with my husband's family. They are all here for my birthday. Trond's mom baked 2 types of cakes, one of them is cheese cake as I have requested for, hehe. The other one is chocolat cake which is also very good! I also think it is very sweet and very nice of her that she cook food with rice instead of potatoes like she usually do.
A little bit after 4, P' Rae, a Thai woman who study in the same class with me came with a set of sushi that she has made as a small gift for my birthday. A big thanks to her as me and Trond hasn't had Japanese food since we left Thailand.
We all 10 of us have a nice dinner and eat cakes together. First Bente, Jon Harald and Marius leave for Jon Harald's parents. An hour or two later me and Trond went to Jeab and Tommy's place. Jeab cooked "Yam woon sen" It was very good, I had to eat again eventhough I already had my dinner. We were there quite a long time and as always, Trond chat with Tommy, and I chat with Jeab as we speak the same language, haha.
That's are quite a lot of things I have done today but wait... on top of the above story, I also had a little chat with my mother who had waited for me. I think it was around midnight when we finally can get to talk but it was all right. She is happy to wait, and I am happy to get a little talk with her.
Now the clock turns eleven at night, my birthday is ended in an hour. I wanted to spend the night with my lovely husband, so now I have to go...
I am saying good bye to the coldest birthday I ever had. (Of course, it will be also the cold birthday in the next next year... )
Oh, some of you might wonder of what I got for a present from my husband? Hehe.
It was a very nice (expensive) shoes and a very good quality blender! Brilliant!!!
Warning!!!! This is going to be a long one....
Last weekend (3-4 Nov) I went to Amphawa in Samut Songkram with my friends. We tried to start the trip early by making appointment at 9.00 am but things were not as planned. I went to the hotel in Nana area to see Wade, my friend from Australia and waited for May, his Thai friend. Then we had a soft breakfast getting from 7-Eleven next to the hotel as the hotel food is expensive as you know.
We left the hotel at about 10.00 a.m. to Victory monument by Taxi and it was quite jam, it took us about 30 mins to get there. Then we catch the van from Victory monument to the destination.... Amphawa. The van cost us 70 Baht each. Oh the taxi was 75 Baht so it was 25 Baht each. It takes 1 hour and 15 min to get to the town called Mae Klong which is one of the districts in Samut Songkram.
Once we got there, we walked thru the market street and walked pass "Market on the rail track". Too bad, on Saturday there was no train passing. Normally whenever there's train passing by, they will have to take their umbrella back in to escape the train and I've actually seen that in a TV. There are not many trains per day and they all know the time table so it's not that dangerous. It's cool!!! We talked to the people around there a bit while Wade was taking pictures.
Then we catch a local bus which cost us 7 Baht each to Amphawa. It took us about 10-15 mins to get there. On da bus, we met another group and one couple. The group is students from Bangkok coming to visit Amphawa just like we did and the couple are local people who came back from BKK. We had a lil chat on the way and Wade was always the person who starts talking. I'll have to join the conversation as I'm his interpreter, and it was like that for most of the trip.
When we got there it was a bit after midday. We were the first group arriving there so we get our stuff in to our room. The bed is big enough for two people so we get extra fook (bed). First we planned that Wade as the only gentleman we have, should sleep on extra bed but too bad later I have to be that one coz I suddenly got a period that night. Ok, that's not a problem anyway. The house has two parts, two stories house with kitchen down stair and big room and two small rooms up stairs (One of them is our room). The second part of the house is the canal side part, with two small rooms, one with toilet, and another VIP room with bedroom, toilet, space in front of bedroom and right in front of that is the area next to the canal. How cool!!! Our room cost 700 Baht/room for two people but we had 3, so we have to pay 200 Baht for extra. It became 300 Baht each.
The time we got there was quite hot so we decided to chill out at the canal side common area with free snack prepared by the owner. He came to chat with us and we ended up playing cards "E Gae Gin Vodka". Yep!! We started drinking at about 2 p.m. I had two glasses, was a bit drunk at that time coz it was local Vodka made in Chiang mai with 40% of alcohol. Later there were more people coming so we ordered food from the boat passing by, too much I have eaten.
After drinking a bit, we got in to a boat and a kayak and row to the market. I was in wooden boat with Wade and P'Lek (owner). I was using Kayak pad to row and p'Lek was the one who control the way. We went to buy some coffee and food at the market then came back home to eat and drink those things. We were a bit wet coz we were playing in the boat and once almost tip!!! So we went to shower.
After that we went to evening market, lots of people there. The market is very interesting, many old stuffs that I've seen when I was young. The houses, shops are quite preserved. We got into one personal museum where the owner was very pleased to present Wade the story of each things he had. Of course, I was translator. Then May went on her own, so Wade and I went to the food stalls part and ate things along the street. Wade got some souvenir for himself and we got old time toy too.
We spent about two hours there at the market and got back home about 9.00 p.m. then chatted with people there. There are many people now but we are with the owner so quite VIP. Heheheh. The boat came to pick us up at 9.45 p.m. to see fireflies, that time most ppl have been back. The room next to us went together, p'Kaew, p'Bird and Fon. P'Lek, p'Bee and Hia Tee (P'Lek's friends) also went with us. It was quite nice on a boat at night without other boat. The temp was quite low so it was freezing to me. We saw some fireflies on the trees, some trees have many of them. But I think there can be more than this but it's already nice for me as I haven't seen that for a long time. The atmosphere got us sleepy but very nice tho.
We got back to the home about 11.30 p.m. May went to bed first as she was tired but we hang around at the canal side a bit to have our dinner. I wanted to hang around more but it was too tiring so we went to bed. The room is with air-con so it's nice to sleep... without shower!! Before getting to bed, I told p'Yai (P'Lek's sister) to wake us up the next morning to give food to the monk. I told her no matter what I said, don't' believe me. She should get me up coz Wade really wanted to join.
Next morning, I got up at 6.00 a.m. coz of my alarm on my mobile so I woke Wade and May before I went to shower. When I got back from shower, Wade's already at the canal taking pictures. May decided not to go down coz she was a bit tired and lazy. I went to give food to the monk who passed by in the canal. It was nice. The monks are very excellent with controlling the boat. I wish I can be as good as them.
After that Wade went back to sleep again. I couldn't sleep so I came down alone to take picture and chatted with other people at the common area. P'Lek set up motorbike tour and asked if anyone would join. P'Kaew, p'Bird and Fon, ppl next door was joining, then I went up to ask Wade and May if they wanna join. May preferred to stay at home so only me and Wade join the trip.
The trip starts at 9.00 a.m. with 3 bikes. We started from the Benjarong factory where they made dinner sets for Apec conference. Wade was very interested to buy some of the works but I told him that we'll come back again coz other people were waiting. Then we went to first temple where they have "Katin" the biggest donation of the year. We had free food too!!! Cool, huh??
Oh I forgot to tell that I was a rider and Wade went with me. I won't trust him anymore coz he has just got motorbike accident in Phuket. :P We went to few temples by going along the canal street, a bit scary, and we had to ride into the ferri to cross the canal too. I did it!!! Also we went on a small road in the garden. It was quite adventure trip and fun too. We've seen quite many things. The trip took about 3-4 hours, longer than predicted. Many times people have to wait for us coz Wade wanna take a look at things he's interested. They were quite nice not complaining about that coz they understand that he won't have much chance to see this kind of things and it's new thing for him. We finally finished our tour with coconut ice cream.
Then we went back to the Benjarong factory coz he wanna buy some souvenir. First people were waiting for us but after awhile (long while), they decided to go back. We spent about an hour choosing stuff there. Actually it was him choosing and I was helping with translation and chatted with the girl there of things. They were quite nice, trying to get him what he wants. There are not many things he can purchase because they are kind of made to order place. One piece of the Benjarong he bought is actually a made to order piece for other customer but they saw him very interested and keen to get things, they gave it to him and will do another one later. He got many things from Benjarong factory, cups, plats, trays, lil boxes. Even I'm Thai who's not into this kind of thing much; I can feel that the product here is quite detailed and neat one.
We went back home at about 3.30 p.m. First we were gonna leave right away but I saw they have ppl to give massage and Wade decided to have one hour of service so we stayed a bit longer so he can enjoy. After the massage, we got ready and take a local bus to Mae Klong to get the van. We left Mae Klong at about 15 mins before 6.00 p.m. and got back to BKK at 7.30 p.m.
It was quite a tiring trip but fun too. I will go back there for sure. It's good place to go with friends or beloved one or can just go there and make new friends.
By the way, many ppl thought Wade was my bf coz we were together most of the time but actually that's the matter of language thing and most important thing he already got a nice wife. :D Don't have to kidding me about this then... hahahaha
Amphawa... I think I'm a lil falling in love with you now. J
PS.
Boat for fireflies @100 THB each
Motorbike rental and tour @150 THB / bike
Local bus @7 Baht each / trip
Van back to BKK @60 THB each (Dunno why it's cheaper)
The weather is getting colder everyday now, the day is also shorter and shorter. This morning at 8 am. it is 2 degree and foggy outside, and now nearly lunch time and is still foggy!
I know it will get worse.. and I am not looking forward to it, hahaha
This morning the newspaper said the sun goes up at 08.18 am. and go down at 17.43.
The moon's up at 16.53 and down at 07.08 am. It also forcasted that this weekend will be BAD weather!! Uffff!!
I have talked to many of the Thai women here and many of them went to Norwegian course for such a long time, some are more than 2000 or 3000 hours. When the law stated that we should do not less than 300 hours only. For me to be able to cover 300 hours should be around end of December. But it is not only the hours, we have to pass the test too!
There is a test every 4-5 months. The soonest test is in the beginning of February next year and I have my goal to it!
I had a consultation hour with the teacher and he told me that the good ones, can passed the test after 6-7 months of studying, while many take a year or two... Suddenly I get really scared, haha!! I started this course in end of August, if I count for it, I should have my time studying only about 5-6 months tops! This is mean that I had to be one of the good ones!!! ...
Well, if I don't pass it I will have to continue to school until June when there is the next test come!
Wish me lots of luck!!
First of all, thanks Trond (I would give him the Nobel Prize of the best husband in the world)who made this site and made it alive...I knew that he made it from his all heart to his beloved wife...of couse, she is also my beloved friend.
Good idea to created this site as it seems to be "A hub" for collecting all missing persons in P'Bee's life, as she said we lose some for gain some, she could use this word for her life from now on and I'm sure what she gains it's more than worth.
What do you think about to wait something for one year and a half?
Someone says, it's not that long as if you're spending your life 24 years already!
But what i've thought, sometimes so tired when think of the destination...
I'm now made it more funny to count down them as the stations!
"Next Station...16th"
I'm counting them monthly...means I have only 16 months to wait (16 months means a year and 4 months left).
Someone asked me "You got a great job here in Thailand as permanantly means no one can kick you out of here, why you're still having plan to quit it? You realized you may get the lower quality of job when you are in Sweden, how you could continue to think about that??? Forget it and you may find new one who makes you do not have to starting find a good job again"
So...she asked me, replied it herself and made the conclusion!!!!
I said "If you think your main destination of life is to have a great job, you are on the right way. But for me, I won't feel regret if I will get a job which not as good as I had here, as long as I have someone waiting home for me and it musts be him. It means I have it so clear with my life destination"
I feel everyday gone fast...but not as fast as what I'm waiting for. I fed up and try to find somthing to do... but you know, when I'm doing this...I'm thinking it would be nice if he can do it too.. See!! how can I get out of this!!
Anyway, I will go to visit P'Ple so soon latest not more than Feb, 2008. I will go for 3 weeks (not that long but it's better than nothing). Yes, I have something to ask P'Bee and Trond if I and P'Ple drive to Göteborg and leave a car somewhere and take a boat to Sarpborg! is that possible? if yes, how long does it takes? so please write some comments to me and I will plan for my trip to visit you (only one day it's fine if it's possible, i just want to see you guys).
Well...having nice time everybody...if you could pray for my love story it would be great ;P
It has been 2 months since I am here in Norway. I starting to get used to with things around here. Directions to go places, food, language, people, and of course the weather.
I haven't write much to friends in Thailand, I am sorry, I hope you can read it through here. I have to admitted that there is nothing here to make me busy but somehow I got something to do everday and was not at all feeling lonely (yet).. haha. I also haven't call much to people eventhough I can get a cheap telephone card calling to Thailand.
2 months here, there comes the feeling of "routine" and I don't know what to talk about. But of course there are some things that surprised me here. For example "tax". Trond said "We pay tax for every single thing here, and almost have to pay for breathing".
Another amazing thing is the sky... The first few weeks when I was here I told Trond that I felt like the sky is so close to us almost like if we could reach it. I can easily see the clouds moves. But Trond said he don't think so. Last 2 weeks ago I was inside reading a book, it was around 1 o' clock in the afternoon. It was nice weather with sunshine, but suddenly I felt like someone dimming the light. I looked up and my mother in law said "it was a cloud that moves passed the sun". It was really amazing for me... It felt so obviously like someone shut down the light!! I was confirmed by a Russian and Romanian friend that what I felt is right, the sun is actually closer in Norway than their countries!!
Last week there is a one by one consultation with the teacher about the course, and discuss of what do I want to do in the future when I finish the language school or if I want to continue to study higher level of the language. We also discuss about the next opening test that is going to be in February next year. I think there is a test in every 4- 6 months, if ones passed the test it is means that person is qualified to speak and work in Norway.
So if I don't pass the test in Feb, I will have to continue the school until June, and November.. something like that. I asked the teacher of how long usually people take to be able to pass the test or finish the course. He said the good ones can pass the test in 6-7 months. There are a lot of people study for 2 years or more. .. Suddenly I get scared, haha. I have just started in the end of August, (was later than other in the class around 3 weeks) and to take the test in Beginning of February .. It means I will only be studied a little bit more than 5 months... Wow.. it suddenly becomes stressful to me. I don't want to take longer than February! I have to try to speak Norwegian more now, otherwise it will be too late!
By the way, Garfield, he is now better and better. He is not stress as he used to anymore. The surgery wound was fully recovered, his hairs grows covered the wounds now too.
Last week the officer at the quarantine said they are able to touch him and stroke him now too! They actually take shorter time than me and Trond, haha. IT took us 3 months to be able to touch him. He is very special cat!
It take us 40 minutes to get there and we continue visiting Garfield every week. Along the way to get there is going through mountains. I got sick everytime but there is nothing I can do..... cause I want to see the world's cutest cat, Garfield!
By the way, can't all you guys please register here?? Don't be lazy now, it takes 1 minute!!
Tomorrow will be my first day at my new job with a really cool boss!!! I'm really happy to work with him who's previously my client. Even though there was a bit problem but now everything's solved. What I'm so excited about this job is that I don't have to wear suit to work anymore and it means I can be more fashionable or less.. hhahah...
I've got few dresses and polo shirts also some pants for this first month which is actually enough for few months but you know girls, they never feel enough. I'd be shopping more, I know. I also have some skirts and tops that I've been using at old place an they can be adapted. There are something else I should worry more tho.. like what to prepare for work!!! hahaha...
I've visited the office last week and it was still empty. I saw few desks that one of them will be mine. The telephone system's not ready yet at that time but Ronald said it will be when i get there tomorrow and the computer will reach to the office from NZ in few days... which mean I'll be working without PC for awhile. It should be a cool work anyway!!!
One more thing, I'll have to find a place for lunch as I didn't see any. There was no drinking water in the office and I think it will be like that for awhile as the pantry's still boxes keeping room and I'll be the one who's finding table, fridge and coffee machine. Bad news!!, there will be no microwave... so i can't cook there.. hahaah
Really look forward to it!!!
HnOn Ooooo
The weather is getting colder everyday now, today is only 6 degree outside... if we ever live out town it could be minus already! The sun also set faster than it was when I first came here in mid August. The sun used to set around 10 at night... but now it's already dark at 8! The time is shorter every day as well... I am looking forward to the day that I should adjust my watch... sounds fun to me! It is like that here, when the time comes, you just lose or gain one hour! Amazing for a Thai person like me anyway! Hahaha
Bee eeee!!!
When I tried to find a short nice description about myself, I would stuck and can't really come up of any word. Yesterday I was thinking about it again and I just came up with one idea in mind.
I'm an alien!!!! Yeah alien like E.T. Well.. I'm not a crazy person who scarifies UFO or whatever. The reason I would say this is because I feel like I'm from somewhere different from most people and I was raised differently and that made me become myself who's a bit strange.
I don't know much how to get along with people or socializing, things like that. I feel like I'm alien who was dropped on earth to learn how to be a human, learn how to make friends, how to love, how to hate, how to become a person. See? I'm thinking like an alien!!! Hahahah
What's the point I'm writing this? Nothing, I just wanna write something.
So... if there's anything I might do incorrectly or offend you, please forgive me.. I'm just a baby alien learning to be a human.
Today is the starting of my second month at work. My boss has to be away for two weeks which mean I'll be alone.
Good thing: I can chat all day long and I can eat anything at anytime
Bad thing: As he's not here, I have not many things to do and it's so boring.
I've also moved to my new apartment last Sunday, it's pretty nice place except I do not have TV nor Fridge yet. My previous apartment said they'll return my deposit on 20 Nov, which is really great. If so, I'll just buy TV and Fridge then.
This week was not too bad, I have things to do at work so I went home late and I was checking out places around and went out with friends. That made me out of the room most of the time. I can watch TV thru my laptop too, it's work laptop that I bring home!!! hehehe...
What I've done with my old PC? I just donated it to debt associate thru p'Mod (The woman who knows how to get everything in this world done). I hope it will be useful to other people. I have given them whole set of PC, printer, computer desk and chair, that should be nice eh?
Next Friday is my university friend's wedding and I'll be going but what should I dress up??? Such a pig now!!!! I've brought many of my clothes but I look terrible in them, maybe I should get a new dress? Damn!!! I should be on diet sii!!!!... Hurr... another wedding on 8 December too and that one was more important as there will be lots of cute/single guys. And you know what, I'll be translator/interpreter for the bestmen... :D
It seems like my life's so happy and colorful right? It is but not all the time. I do feel down sometimes too when I'm alone. I think I have a problem to make/keep friends. I wanna change the bad thing I am but seems it's already in every single part of my blood so it's not easy to do so. Just hope the one who's reading this would understand what I am and know that I always care you.
OK... I'll try to update my blog more often but how long I can do? Dunno.
Miss the reader.. :P
Hnon
Nowadays the sun sets very early and it's actually effected to me and Trond as we can't drive to see Garfield and stay as long as we usually do. Trond finish work difference time everyday and we never know when exactly we can go visit Garfield. If lucky Trond come home before 04.30 then we can take a visit Garfield and Trond usually comes home after 5. Not very easy isn't it?
But... fortunately, Garfield is now a lot better at the quarantine, he gets used to with everything there now I believe since he let people who work there touch and stroke him very easily. The people who work there like him very much too! and of course everyone know why.. hehehe (Because he is the world's cutest cat!!)
Since he is now better with the quarantine, it is no need for me to worry for him as much as I used to. I felt "ok" when I can't go to see him as appointed since I know he is just fine over there anyway. But of course we still try our best to keep on visiting him once a week.
You can see in the picture of how nice he looks?
